ASTM D5453-19 identifies a total-sulfur method using ultraviolet fluorescence. A material intended for another sulfur technique is not automatically an equivalent choice. Confirm the method and edition used by your laboratory before comparing products.
Write a specification that can be checked
For an enquiry, include the sample type, instrument model, method number and edition, and whether the material is for calibration or independent quality control. Add the required matrix, concentration or range, package size and any existing catalogue number.
Keep calibration materials, check materials, reagents and sampling consumables as separate requirements. A similar product name or concentration does not establish interchangeability. Check the proposed material against its documentation and the instrument requirements.
